Hey Cypher and Hyp,
Just a short email this week to cover a few things. But before I get into all that I have a special message for a buddy of the show:
Hey Erylate, glad you’re enjoying Torchlight. *cough* Who sent in that email to the show? *cough*
With that out of the way, I finally got my 360 back and broke her back in with the multiplayer demo for Transformers: War for Cybertron. My impressions from the 30 minutes I spent with it weren’t great.
It’s not bad by any stretch, but it’s not Halo. I suppose it’d be better with all four “classes” available, but I’m not feeling it. If I’m still with Gamefly when it launches and I miraculously manage to get a copy sent to me, I’ll give it another go.
Other than getting my 360 set up and playing on it for 30 minutes, I went back to playing Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time on my PS3. This R&C didn’t pull me in right away, (well to be fair, none of them have) but once you start opening up more weapons, the game becomes quite enjoyable.
Well, that’s about it. No movie recommendations this time, I’ve been too busy treading the landmine-ridden fields of a Final Fantasy XIV forum. There’s a lot of WoW hate out there. /sigh

Weekly raid quest -Ignis
Fridaynight Alt run. Was affraid that the ID would reset during the 24hr maintenance.
Could not buy a time card online. Blizz phone support sucks. Had to run to the store to buy one.
Random Heroic with Sharp. Pugged in 3 player- went fine.
Hypknotoad:
Been considering buying up cheap herbs in prep for Cata, the Call To Auction guys seem to think it’s a good idea with the amount of people levelling new professsions.
Frail:
Dinged 68 in Shattered halls.
Ran ‘Opening of the Dark Portal’ a violet hold type instance set in the Swamp of Sorrows.
Got Outland Dungeon master in Magesters Terrace!
Playing mostly as Ret at the moment, tank gear is not good enough to do the NR instances.
Thanks to Zooe for making the guts of the full cobalt set for Frail.
Moved on to Northrend instances, AN is difficult with that first pull for a tank.
Looking forward to 71 were i think i get the last of my tanking abilities.

Alts Run: Considering pulling Crooked out of the group. Not sure I’m enjoying ICC as much the second time round. This could be due to the different class I’m playing or that ICC has just become monotonous and the group has not progressed much since we formed. One way or another I’m just not enjoying it as much this time. Besides I’m 25, spending every weekend friday through sunday raiding is probably too much.
Cy: Agreed: Bit frustrated with the deja vu every week.
Main Run: Terrible run, we changed the strat which was a bad idea
Main Run #2: Started off just as bad but by the end we were making progress.
Got LK down to <50%

A. We think it’s fair to let you know what’s going to happen to all of that old currency. It’s not yet time for us to discuss that entire plan, but we’ll do so in enough time for your to react.
Overall, you can expect that there won’t be much motivation to hoard and even less to go out and farm old content in preparation for the Cataclysm launch.
We would definitely like to get some of that stuff out of your currency UI so you don’t have to look at that lonely Badge of Justice for the rest of your character’s career.
Q. Friends tend to betray friends in games, especially this one. So, I’m not exactly wrong on this issue. It will be abused I can guarantee that.
A. If you believe that about your friends, I suggest not giving them your password and authenticator code then. Also, block them from your Real ID friends list.
Q. I hope it works out well, I like the idea but I just see problems with it, I may be right I may be wrong. I’m not bashing blizzard for creating it, I just see problems or other ways of phishing for it, friends betraying one another etc. you get the picture hopefully. To each is own.
A. As others have suggested, if you’re that skeptical about the Real ID feature you should probably use it extremely sparingly. You are ultimately in control of the information you give out. That has never changed.
Cataclysm Press event: The NDA has released:
Source (Wow.com),(mmo-champion.com)
Path of the Titans has been cancelled-
Medium glyphs will be fun/cosmetic glyphs -new tier of glyph
Minor and major with be mostly unchanged.
Guilds:
Players will earn rep with guilds
Guild currency and talent trees are gone.
New guild UI -The UI will display your guild’s XP bar, an upcoming events section with a feed of your guild’s calendar events, an RSS feed of your guild’s recent events (boss kills, rated battleground wins, etc.), your character’s guild reputation bar and your recently gained perk.
The guild roster will contain profession information for each player, and you can view their recipes even when they are not online.
Guilds will automatically receive perks and bonuses for leveling up (there are 25 levels), but there will be no guild talent trees. Boss kills, winning battlegrounds and similar activities will accrue XP for your guild.
Raids:
Players locked to a 25-man raid will have the option to split your raid ID into three parts, so you can split into three smaller 10-man raids if necessary. All three raids will pick up at the same point the 25-man raid stopped. Once split, the raid cannot be reassembled. Also, while 10-man raids were intentionally easier than 25-man raids inWrath of the Lich King, that will not be true in Cataclysm.
Raid IDs will not be as strict as they are now. If your raid dead-ends but you find another raid that has killed the same bosses, you can leave your ID and join theirs.
Grim Batol’s Bastion of Twilight is one of Cataclysm’s entry-level raids. There will be five bosses, with the end boss being Cho’gall. If you manage to defeat him in Heroic Mode, a “horrific secret will be revealed when he dies”.
Archaeology
Path of the Titans has been removed, so Archaeology’s focus will be on showing off the lore of the game and learning Azeroth’s history. Players will find two types of artifacts: Lore artifacts are one, which teach you about the world. The second will be cosmetic/vanity rewards. This profession will be entirely optional.
Other Changes
The “level up” experience has been overhauled. When you level up, your UI will display if you’ve gained a new talent point, unlocked any abilities, unlocked any features (battlegrounds, riding skill, the ability to use glyphs, etc.) and various other details you might otherwise overlook leveling up.
Heirlooms will work for new Goblin and Worgen characters, but they will not scale past level 80.
Stormwind has been completely redesigned to accomodate flying mounts. The Park of Stormwind has been destroyed by Deathwing and the Dwarven District now hosts a Bank and an Auction House. (Details on Wowhead)
Orgrimmar has been redesigned as well: Garrosh is the new Warchief and is located in the center of Orgrimmar, not in the Valley of Wisdom. Goblins have their own area, the Valley of Wisdom becomes a Tauren district, and there is now a back gate leading directly into Azshara. (Details on Wowhead)

Green Zone (2010)
Directed by: Paul Greengrass
Metacritic – 61
100 Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert
It is a thriller, not a documentary. It’s my belief that the nature of the neocon evildoing has by now become pretty clear. Others will disagree. The bottom line is: This is one hell of a thriller.
40 Boxoffice Magazine Ray Greene
Green Zone is an exercise in commercial cowardice masquerading as a thriller about political bravery.
TV Shows:
True Blood:
at the end of last season-
Bill proposes to sookie and is kidnapped before she says yes, Sam goes looking for his family, Jason shoots Eggs.
Loved the premier:
Bill is being drained by his capturers but manages to crash their car and escape. He is weak and in Mississippi with no way of contacting Sookie.
Sookie is talking to everyone to get help finding Bill- Police, Pam, Bill, Jessica may be her best bet.
Jason and Andy try to cover up Jasons involvement in Eggs death and Andy say he did it in self defence.
Eric tried to have Bill kidnaped but his people got there after the other people grabbed him. Eric is trying to shut him up about the V selling the Erics doing for the queen.

It’s a good game, Very much a GTA in the wild west. Not that thats a bad thing. GTA is a great game. It is a bit buggy, but no major problems so far. Good character acting, although I’m working with a guy called Irish who is you guessed it… irish. He has a bad “who stole my lucky charms” accent that would make Gabriel Armour look like a native. Plays a bit on the stereotype of the hard drinking whisky alcoholic irish settler which I found funny as it had poked fun at how people had stereotype of the american indians early in the game.
Gameplay is pretty good. Most of the gunfights rely on the auto aim and break down to spaming the aim button till you get a bead on the target, but they are still fun if not a bit repetitive. The game map is huge… and you spend far too much time riding from town to town. There are mechanics to get you from point A to Point B quicker but they tend to make alot of game time go by. Hate trying to quest at night. Too hard to see on a cloudy night so I find myself saving alot as that makes 6hr game time go by.
Over all: it’s a good game and I’d say a purchase if you like the big wide open sandbox games.
