• Another bad pug experiance: PoS tank was afk to begin with got up to Garfrost finally. Tank brought Garfrost down to the stairs.. beside all the stones kept los me (the healer) we all died. Second attempt he did not turn Garfrost away I got one shotted by the blue spikeies we all died. When ressed the tank asked if WE new the fight. I asked do you? Third attempt the other pug pulled aggro to start and was one shotted. We took him down thankfully started to move on and the tank said ‘O Man Ive got to go to bed’ ….. We all ‘lol’d’ he left.

Run was pretty good, but still not successful at taking down Halion. One shotted all the mini- bosses but wiped twice on the patrolling trash. Made a bunch of attempts on Hal. Consistantly getting to the final phase of the fight. Down to ~12%

On the day of the raid I decided despite having <1000 gold to start selling shit, begging etc to get my i264 legs made. I did this leaving myself with 56g total.

[Oni announces at the start of the raid he has 60k gold through playing the AH. Later he is asking about a bracer upgrade to an item lvl 226, I asked what the hell do you have now if your upgrading to a 226? Oni links an ilvl 200 blue. On futher inspection he has a ton of blue 200's where he could have the boe neck from the AH and the two craftable 264's. Oni's reasoning as we prepare to engage the Lich King... All the shit he upgrades is prob gonna drop now.]

Apart from that we got the LK down further than ever, to 53%.

I got caught out a couple of times with defile, both didn’t cause huge issues because thankfully not many were near me.

Got my focus set the LK but it’s still hard to keep an eye on it while watching healbot moving into position and stunning the valk .

We had a lot of trouble later in the night with silly wipes on the transition ie. not getting the orbs down on time.

Guild experience can be earned in any of four ways:

1. Completing quests / daily quests that reward experience

2. Killing any dungeon / raid boss with a guild group/raid

3. Winning a rated battleground with a guild group/raid

4. Earning a guild achievement (these are nice, fat chunks of experience so they feel great when you get em)

A guild group/raid is 4/5, 8/10, 12/15 or 20/25 members of the group/raid being guild members. (Source)

Guild Heirlooms

The heirlooms on the guild vendor are just like other heirlooms in the game except that these must be unlocked via a guild achievement and you must have the required guild faction to purchase them. After that, you can use them just like normal heirloom items.

We did have thoughts of making these items guild bound a long time ago but we came to the conclusion that that was just too limiting of a design. Imagine leaving a guild and losing all the guild rewards that you worked so hard to get? Taking items away from players is something that we would like to avoid at all costs. (Source)

Dark Phoenix Mount Reward

The guild rewards you guys are seeing in game are not hooked up yet. Guild rewards have 3 requirements that must be be met before you can use them. First and foremost, they must be unlocked via a guild achievement. Let’s just say, that for example, you need to complete the new guild achievement “We are Legendary” in order to unlock the Dark Phoenix. That achievement requires the guild to gain access to all 6 legendary weapons currently available in the game. (note that all guild achievements start on Cataclysm launch, so anything you have now will not matter, it must be done with your guild after launch)

So, let’s say that your guild get’s this achievement and thereby unlocks the Dark Phoenix on the guild vendor. At this point anyone in the guild can see the item on the vendor, but they will need a specific amount of guild faction to be able to purchase it. In this case, let’s say exalted. Now, once you have the guild faction, you can purchase the item for its gold price. (prices will vary based on the reward)

I am using the Dark Phoenix and the We are Legendary guild achievement as examples here but you should get the idea. Don’t worry, we wont be handing out all the goodies so easily. =)

• Bill tells sookie what she is. -A farie . And warns her about Vampires hunting her kind. He does not tell her about the temporary fire resistance
• Jesus and Laffette use V to heal Crystal’s Dad… He’s not happy he’s been contaminated. Says its her duty to mate with the other guy to preserve the blood line. Especially since his has now been tainted.
• Jesus is amazed by the powers of V and pushes Laffette to use with him. They take a “trip” through Jesus’s past and see his ancestors- all playing with magic in one form or another.
• Eric prepares for the worst and makes out a will leaving Pam everything. He goes to say good bye to Sookie and warns her once more not to trust Bill. Later Sookie shows up at Fangtasia and asks why he was saying goodbye. Pam urges Eric to use Sookie to get out of trouble. Eric locks up Sookie in the basement.
• Jason and Tara have a moment. Till Jason Blerts out that he killed Eggs.
• Bill is pissed at Jason for losing Sook. Crystal shows up in Jasons bathroom- in the form of a panther. -

¿Cómo estás Cypher y Hyp?

Wow, Hyp. Just wow. You’ve never heard of a burrito? Seriously? I’m gonna have to set the record straight since Cypher didn’t do that great of a job explaining what a burrito is. (There are more differences between an enchilada and a burrito that Cypher led on)

A burrito can consist of pretty much anything, though the traditional mexican filling is beans, rice and meat. The main thing that defines a burrito is the larger flour tortilla that is wrapped and folded around the filling. Both ends of a burrito should be folded in as to contain the filling and to allow it to be picked up and eaten with the hands.

An enchilada is a wrap that uses a sauce that is mixed with the filling and is then drizzled over the top of the tortillas and then baked. Enchiladas are meant to be eaten with a fork and a knife.

Damn, now I’m making myself hungry … let’s change the subject.

I’m still working on the “Best of” show. I’ve been pulled in a million directions and have been punched in the face by work this past week, so while it’s still a little bit off, it *will* be happening. But you’re welcome to call me out on it on a weekly basis if that’s the prodding I need to get it out sooner than later

Also as far as my Stitch impression goes, I did that in honor of episode

#50 and was unrelated to the anniversary of the show. I know you were just ribbing me, but you did get things mixed up to the point where newer listeners may get confused.

Anyhoo …

I just want to remind everyone that Avatar: The Last Airbender (books 1,2,3) are still available on Netflix’s instant queue and I highly suggest that everyone watches the series. The wife unit and I have gotten up to the middle of season 2 and she is /hooked/. Avatar has the perfect mix of character development, involving storyline, and light-hearted humor to keep things from getting too heavy (*Looks in Shymallamadingdong’s direction*)

We also got a chance to have a date night and saw Inception, the same night that Cypher and his g-unit did. (I swear it was just a happy coincidence) What an incredible movie. It lived up to all of the hype that it has been receiving and is a movie that you cannot let pass you by. Go see it in IMAX if you can as Cypher did, I’m wishing I had.

I also had the chance to watch the documentary Beer Wars today with my wife. Wow. This documentary would have been more appropriately named “Call to Arms: Down with Anheuser-Busch.” Holy fuck there was a ton of anti-Budweiser propaganda throughout.

Despite the stilt of the documentary, it does give some insight on to how the “beer industry” works and highlights two smaller breweries and the trials and tribulations they’ve experienced in trying to “break into the market.” A worthwhile watch if you’re at all a fan of beer.

And for the record: I’m sorry if any of your listeners like piss-water, errr I mean Budweiser, there are much much better beers out there worth the money.

• Got My Sons of Hodir rep up to revered.  Picked up the lower lvl shoulder enchant.
• Finished the holiday achievement Pilgrim.  Got the title and the pet.  Funny pet animation when he’s near a cooking fire.
• Used the holiday event to raise cooking to 330.  Working on bringing it up the rest of the way without fishing

  • Tried to help with the zombie kiting… ended up tanking them which did not help.

• Ran Ulduar 25 with Jase’s guild and some from pants on head.
  • Downed FL easily much better than last time
  • Took out razorscale after 1 wipe
  • Moved to Ingnis and wiped 4 times
  • My overall dps was pretty good!
• Dropped mining for enchanting
• Ran Uld 10 with Jase’s guild and some PoH. Downed 4 bosses and dropped a ring for me.

We ARE NOT a raiding guild: We are a social guild who raids. And what does this mean? It means that our guild’s sole focus is not progression or frequency of raiding. It means that we raid for the sake of fun, exploration and to spend time together, not for personal gain or glory. It means that we will work with our members to succeed and we will help you learn. It means that our guild has a good time and has fun doing things other than raiding as well. It means all of our members are important and valuable, not just the raiders. If the only reason you are in it is for loot and you will be angry without it, you will not find what you need in our raid team.
RAID TIPS:
Do: Download Omen and Deadly Boss Mods or Big Wigs (and Decursive if you can remove curses, cleanse/dispell magic, etc.).
Don’t: Loot while in combat or when anyone is dead. Sometimes there is a glitch that won’t allow people to receive loot if they are dead. The best practice is to let the raid leader loot the boss.
Do: Download and use Ventrilo (even if you don’t have a mic). It greatly helps with communication.
Don’t: Release from your body during a boss fight until the entire group is dead. Someone may be able to rez you and save us the time of running back.
Do: Study up on boss fights before we see them if you want to be prepared. There’s tons of info at WoWwiki.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand the fight. A raid leader should always explain the fight if someone hasn’t seen it before.
Do: Pay attention and take direction from your raid leader.
Don’t talk or interrupt in Vent while the raid leader is explaining a fight or assigning loot.
Do: Have fun and be kind and respectful of your fellow raiders.
Don’t stress out or freak out in-game or in Vent, or start
assigning blame.
DO: offer constructive ideas and solutions if you have them.

Cypher, RANDOM MOUNTSBeen using the macros below for my random mounts.  The numbers in red are the positions of the SWIFT mounts on your mount window.  The green numbers are the slow mounts. Easiest way to identify which numbers go where – open your mounts window.

Using the grid above, write in the position number of the mount into the appropriate box.  Feel free to leave out any mounts you don’t want to use.  After you’ve listed all the mounts, copy the position numbers into the appropriate macros.  Simple!  Only problem with this macro is when you get a new mount it will change the positions of other mounts and you’ll have to redo the macros.  Not really a problem with me because I don’t have that many – but this is an easy way to use random mounts. MountFly – This macro is for random flying mounts.  Swift mounts are automatically picked, but if you want a random slow mount, hold the Alt key and click the macro/run if IsMounted() then Dismount() return end local t if IsFlyableArea()and not IsModifierKeyDown() then t={2,4} else t={5} end CallCompanion(“MOUNT”,t[random(#t)]) MountLand – This macro is for random land mounts.  Swift mounts are automatically picked, but if you want a random slow mount, hold the Alt key and click the macro/run if IsMounted() then Dismount() return end local t if not IsModifierKeyDown() then t={1,3} else t={6} end CallCompanion(“MOUNT”,t[random(#t)])
SONS OF HODIRYou weren’t sure why everyone does the Sons Of Hodir rep – it’s for the shoulder enchants.  Typically, they have one of the best shoulder enchants in the game.  However, scribes have a MUCH better enchant.  Depending on the class, better shoulder enchants might be found with Knights of the Ebon Blade, Kirin Tor, or Wyrmrest Accord.  Check wowwiki for the enchants each faction has to offer and skillup that faction’s rep first. V – the miniseriesWatched the pilot this past week and it was AWESOME!  I kind of wish ABC hadn’t spoiled the reveal of the spacecraft because one of the most spine-tingling (yes, I mean that literally) moments was when we saw the reflection of the spacecraft in the buildings as it moved into the city.  I watched the old V miniseries back in the 80′s and I vaguely remember it, but the pilot for this version has me hooked. FLASH FORWARDHaven’t heard you and Hyp mention watching this show.  It’s ABC’s replacement for Lost which is in it’s last season (thank god!).  I loved the first two seasons of Lost, but then it went so far off course in season three that I gave up on it.  Flash Forward is every bit as engaging as Lost was in the beginning.  The difference is that the producers have already scripted out the entire series versus the producers of Lost who only scripted out the beginning and the end.  I want to highly recommend this to both of you. All for now!  Really enjoy the podcasts – keep them coming mates!

• Killed one of the world dragons (emertiss) with Betenoir, Hornne, bullbag and hyp.
